On September 21, Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) launched It’s Not Just, a gender-based violence (GBV) youth awareness campaign.
It’s Not Just empowers youth and young adults to identify and challenge views and actions that can contribute to GBV by educating them on the various — often insidious — ways that violence can manifest itself. It also demonstrates how GBV is a collective issue that we all have a role in ending.
Too many people across Canada face violence every day because of their gender, gender expression, gender identity, or perceived gender. Canadians aged 15 to 24 are at a heightened risk of experiencing GBV, even more so if they are rural youth, youth with disabilities, or members of Indigenous, 2SLGBTQI+, Black, racialized, immigrant, or other equity-deserving communities.

We can work together to end it and make Canada a safer place to live.
